Artist Studio and Architectural Intervention Adaptive Reuse blends industrial heritage with contemporary
clarity for artist production

In this Adaptive Reuse intervention, the historical feature of Chicago’s Old Post Office becomes an intimate sanctuary for contemporary painter Brice Marden.

The design preserves the building’s industrial elegance while introducing a quiet spatial rhythm attuned to Marden’s meditative poetic process. A restrained material palette echoes Marden’s minimalist/contemporary sensibility, allowing space and silence to lead.
